10 Directory Submission Services Scored and Compared (2026)
Ten services that will submit your product to startup and AI directories for you, scored on one rubric with every point shown, plus two bonus entries outside the ranking. Our own service is in the list. The rubric is public so you can re-score with your own weights.
Quick summary
- Highest score: Free AI Directories, 10 of 12. $99 for 80 AI-only directories, 100% manual, 48 to 72 hour delivery, screenshots and logins in the report. Our own service, so check the rubric below rather than taking our word for it.
- Best value: SubmitWell. 50 directories for $35 and 200 for $99, manual, screenshots and credentials included. Ignore the DR guarantee; its own terms say approvals are up to each directory.
- Fastest: SubmitSaaS, 48 hours on every plan, automation-assisted at $1.00 a directory. Among the fully manual services, our Basic plan at 48 to 72 hours is next.
- Best free list: BacklinkBot, 1,287 directories with DR and follow status, open to anyone. For AI tools only, aidirectori.es, 321+ with monthly refreshes.
- Best automated option: Submitator. Says outright that software does the submissions, $29 for 30 directories, 24 to 48 hours, a public list you pick from, 30-day refund. Included as a bonus because it is a different product from the manual services.
- Best report proof: four services score full marks: LaunchDirectories, myStartupTool, SubmitWell and ourselves, each promising screenshots and logins for every directory.
- Key takeaway: Pay for the report, not the directory count. A service that sends you screenshots and logins can be checked; one that guarantees a DR number cannot, because no vendor controls Ahrefs.
Disclosure: we run this site and sell one of the services below. Every service was scored on the same six criteria from text on its own page, every point is shown, and our entry lists where we lose. Prices were read live on 5 October 2026.
A directory submission service is a done-for-you service that takes your product details once and lists you on startup, SaaS or AI tool directories such as Product Hunt, G2, There's An AI For That or Futurepedia, so you get the backlinks and referral traffic without filling in every form yourself. The services differ on who does the work, what proof you get back, and what they promise.
The ranking
Twelve points available: two per criterion. Ties are broken by price per directory on the cheapest plan, cheapest first. myStartupTool prices in euros; its €1.43 sits between BacklinkBot's $0.99 and StartupSubmit's $1.65 at any exchange rate from parity to about 1.15, so the order of the five services on 7 points does not depend on the rate.

Prices are the amount charged today, including any strike-through sale price shown on the vendor's page. "Scored rate" is price per directory on the cheapest plan, which is what the rubric scores. "Lowest rate" is the best rate on any plan, for comparison only. † StartupSubmit refused connections from our checking environment and was scored from a saved copy of its page. "Not stated" means the page does not say, which is itself a finding.
How the scoring works
Six things a buyer can check before paying, each worth 0, 1 or 2 points. Nothing subjective like "quality"; every score comes from text on the vendor's own site.
- Method. States 100% manual or human submission: 2. Hybrid or automation-assisted: 1. Automated or not stated: 0.
- List transparency. Full directory list on an open public page: 2. Behind a free signup, or a partial sample: 1. Hidden or sold separately: 0.
- Proof in the report. Screenshots plus the logins created for you: 2. Screenshots or live links, but not logins: 1. "A report" with nothing specified: 0.
- Honest guarantee. Guarantees what the vendor controls (the submissions, the report) and says plainly that approvals and DR are not guaranteed: 2. A refund with no DR promise, or no guarantee at all: 1. A guaranteed DR or DA number: 0, because no vendor controls Ahrefs.
- Price per directory on the cheapest plan. $1.00 or under: 2. $1.01 to $2.00: 1. Over $2.00: 0.
- Delivery. A specific turnaround on the page: 2. A range that contradicts itself elsewhere on the page: 1. Not stated: 0.
Relevance to AI tools is not scored. Two of the ten (ours and aidirectori.es) only use AI directories, which matters a lot if you have an AI product and not at all if you do not, and scoring it would tilt the table toward us.
| Service | Method | List | Proof | Guarantee | Price | Delivery | Total |

If you weight it differently
Our rubric weights six things equally. Yours may not, so here is who wins under each single criterion, from the same table:
- Price first: SubmitWell, $0.70 on the entry plan and $0.50 on the largest, with screenshots and credentials. We are $1.24 and $0.66.
- Proof first: myStartupTool and LaunchDirectories, screenshots and a login for every directory. We also promise both; SubmitWell does too.
- Open list first: BacklinkBot, 1,287 directories with DR and follow status, no signup. Ours needs a free account.
- Speed first: SubmitSaaS, 48 hours on every plan. Our Basic plan is 48 to 72 hours.
- AI directories only: us or aidirectori.es, and this is the one criterion we did not score because it only matters if you have an AI product.
Any of those is a defensible way to pick. The ranking above is what you get when none of them dominates.
Manual, hybrid or automated
Manual means a person opens each directory, creates the account, fills the form and uploads the images. It is slow and it is the only method that handles the quirks: the directory that wants the tagline in the description field, the one that rejects a logo over 500 KB, the category list that has no entry for your product. Eight of the ten ranked services say they work this way. You cannot verify it from the outside; the report is the first evidence either way.
Hybrid means software fills the forms and a person checks the result. SubmitSaaS and ListingBott describe themselves this way. It is faster and cheaper per directory, and it tends to be fine on directories with simple forms and worse on the ones with editorial review.
Automated means a script does everything. Submitator, the bonus entry, is the one service here that says so. It is the cheapest and fastest by a distance, and the listings it produces are only as good as the directory's form is predictable. Expect to fix a few by hand afterwards.
The honest tell is not the label but the proof. A service that sends a screenshot and the login for every directory is showing you the work, whichever method it used.
Each service, with what the page says
Free AI Directories
freeaidirectories.com ↗Free AI Directories started as a free list of AI directories with DR, dofollow and pricing data, and added a submission service on top of it. It only submits to AI directories, which is the whole pitch: an AI tool gets 80 to 300 relevant listings instead of a mix of startup and software sites. Run by Bizl LLC in the US; the founder posts as @georgeorch. The pricing cards state the turnaround per plan, and the FAQ says in plain words that approvals and DR are not guaranteed, which is rare on this list. Every plan includes resubmission of fixable rejections at no charge.
Pick it if your product is an AI tool and you want the listings to be on sites that cover AI tools. Skip it if your product is anything else, or if the lowest price per directory is what you are optimising for.
Where it scores
- Only AI directories, so an AI tool is not paying for listings on general startup sites
- Says in plain text that it does not guarantee approvals or DR
- The largest plan on the list (300) at the second-lowest rate per directory
Where it loses points
- The full list needs a free account; it is not an open page like aidirectori.es or SubmitSaaS
- $1.24 per directory. SubmitWell, SubmitSaaS and BacklinkBot are cheaper
- Useless if your product is not an AI tool
SubmitSaaS
submitsaas.com ↗SubmitSaaS is the budget option with a public list. It is aimed at SaaS founders, runs a 48-hour turnaround on every plan, and is one of two services here (ListingBott is the other) that say on their own page that software does part of the work with human review on top. It also takes PayPal and crypto, which nobody else on the list mentions. Submissions are tracked in a shared Google Sheet, and the service creates a dedicated email account for directory correspondence and hands you the credentials with the final report. The DR targets on each tier are written as ceilings ("up to DR 10"), so read them as the most they aim for rather than a floor.
Pick it if you want the cheapest entry price with screenshots and a public list, and you are fine with software doing part of the form-filling. Skip it if you want to see which listings were approved.
Where it scores
- $1.00 per directory with screenshots in the report
- Open public list before you pay
- Clear 48-hour promise
Where it loses points
- Automation-assisted, like ListingBott; the other ten claim fully human work
- FAQ says "We do not provide a list of approved submissions", so you cannot check what went live
- Proof scores 1, not 2: the credentials handed over are for one shared email inbox, not a login per directory
- "Up to DR 10 / 15 / 20" reads like a promise and is a ceiling
LaunchDirectories
launchdirectories.com ↗LaunchDirectories serves startups and SaaS products and keeps separate AI and SaaS directory sections on its site. It publishes its own comparison article (ranking itself first, with a disclosure), an open list with DR and traffic data, and a report with live links, screenshots and logins. The founder, Krzysztof Cichy, is named on the site. Plans run from 30+ to 100+ directories, and the site says the list is customised per product rather than one fixed set. Its stats block quotes a "+25 average DR increase" and an 80 to 95% acceptance rate without saying how either was measured.
Pick it if you want a list tailored to your product and a report with links, screenshots and logins, and the per-directory price is secondary. Skip it if you are counting dollars per listing.
Where it scores
- Links, screenshots and logins in the report
- Open list with DR and dofollow data
- Publishes its own comparison and discloses that it is the author
Where it loses points
- $3.30 per directory on the starter plan, the second most expensive here
- "+25 avg DR increase" and "80 to 95% acceptance" on the page with no source
- Sale prices with no end date
SubmitWell
submitwell.com ↗SubmitWell competes on price: 50 directories for $35 is the cheapest done-for-you plan we found, and it sells its list as a DIY CSV from $15 for founders who would rather do the forms themselves. It targets any tech product rather than a niche, and pairs a 30-day refund with a guaranteed DR increase that its own terms undercut. The report includes submission URLs, screenshots and the credentials used, which puts it in the top group for proof. Delivery is 6 to 7 days, slower than most here, and the DR guarantee tiers (0 to 10+, 20+, 30+) rise with plan size.
Pick it for the lowest price on the list with real proof in the report, and read the guarantee as a 30-day refund rather than a DR promise. Skip it if you need to inspect the directories before paying.
Where it scores
- $0.50 to $0.70 per directory, the lowest on the list
- Screenshots and credentials in the report
- A real 30-day refund window
Where it loses points
- Guarantees a DR number while the same page says "final acceptance depends on each directory editorial process"; the refund covers failing to submit, not failing to hit DR
- No free public list; you buy the CSV to see what you are getting
- "Elite directories" at 50 cents each is a claim without a list to check it against
BacklinkBot
backlinkbot.ai ↗BacklinkBot is first an outreach agent sold at $99 a month; directory submission is a side offer mentioned in one line on the homepage. Its real contribution to this list is the public database: 1,287 directories with DR, price and follow status, free to browse. The founder, Piyush Patel, is named. Nothing on the page says how long the directory service takes, what the report contains, or which 100 of the 1,287 you get. The agent product is the opposite, with weekly link re-checks and DR tracking described in detail.
Use the free list even if you never buy anything; it is the largest open one we found. Buy the $99 service only after asking what the report contains and when it arrives, because the page does not say.
Where it scores
- The largest free list we found, with the data you need to pick from it
- Under a dollar a directory
Where it loses points
- The $99 service is one sentence on the page: no delivery time, no report contents, no list of which 100 are used
- Case studies cite DR jumps with "go and check them" but no domains to check
myStartupTool
mystartuptool.com ↗myStartupTool is a European service, priced in euros, built around a single plan size: 104 directories, with an optional 15 app-store style directories added on. The site is plainer than the others and makes up for it in the report, which includes a screenshot and the login for every submission, and in a 48-hour refund window after purchase. The homepage says the database holds 183 directories while plans cover 104, and claims it submits to more directories than anyone else, which the rest of this list disproves. The site gives no delivery time; the "48 hours after purchase" on the pricing page is the refund window, not a turnaround.
Pick it if proof matters most: a screenshot and a login for every one of 104 directories. Skip it if you need a delivery date, want to see the list first, or need a smaller plan.
Where it scores
- Screenshot plus login for every directory, which is the standard the rest should meet
- A full refund if you change your mind within 48 hours of paying
Where it loses points
- No delivery time anywhere on the site, which is the point that dropped it from 9 to 7
- Priced in euros; US buyers pay the conversion
- Homepage says the database holds 183 directories but plans submit to 104 and the gap is not explained
- "We submit to more directories than anyone else" is not true on this list
StartupSubmit
startupsubmit.app ↗StartupSubmit refused connections from the environment we used to check the others, so it is scored from a saved copy of its homepage captured on 5 October 2026. StartupSubmit, from WEB Sparked LLC in the US, is a manual service for startups, SaaS products and AI tools. It keeps a database of 500+ directories and submits to 60 to 200+ of them depending on plan, matched to your category. The pitch leans on DR guarantees, a "team of 20 SEO professionals", a dedicated account manager and a free Reddit post on the top plan, plus a sample PDF report you can open before buying. A sample PDF report on the page shows platform, DR, status, live link and screenshot per row, the most complete sample any vendor here publishes. The comparison table on the same page describes competitors in terms their own sites contradict, so treat it as marketing rather than research.
Pick it for a 200-directory plan at $1.00 each with a screenshot per listing and a sample report you can open first. Treat the DR guarantees and the competitor table as marketing.
Where it scores
- Screenshots for every submission and a sample report on the page
- Clear delivery windows on all three plans
- Submission count guaranteed, with substitutes if a directory rejects your niche
Where it loses points
- Two of three plans are sold on a DR number; a testimonial claims "+15 DR in a day"
- Its competitor table says LaunchDirectories uses "auto-submission" and SubmitSaaS sends "no screenshots". Both vendors' own pages say otherwise
- Growth and Authority cost the same $199; the page itself tells you to buy Authority instead
AI Directories (aidirectori.es)
aidirectori.es ↗AI Directories, at aidirectori.es, is the service closest to ours: AI directories only, a public list of 321+ with DR and dofollow data refreshed monthly, manual submission, and a refund policy that makes no DR promise. It is run by Sergiu Chiriac (@s_chiriac), who posts about it on X. The two gaps are no stated turnaround and a higher price per directory. Its list page states exactly how many directories are free to submit to and how many sit at DR 70 or above, with the month the data was last refreshed. The upper two plans include the fees that paid directories charge, roughly $59 and $173, so the price covers the whole job.
Pick it if you have an AI tool, want an open list you can check, and prefer a vendor that refuses to promise DR. Skip it if you need a delivery date, because the site does not give one.
Where it scores
- Open, well-maintained public list
- Honest about not guaranteeing results
- Includes the submission fees of paid directories, which nobody else here does
Where it loses points
- No turnaround anywhere on the site (LaunchDirectories' article quotes 7 to 14 days, but that is their figure, not aidirectori.es's)
- $3.30 per directory on the starter plan
- "800+ startups" on the homepage and "1000+ founders" on pricing
Submit Juice
submitjuice.com ↗Submit Juice, from Marketing Juice LLC, is the premium option. It sells smaller curated batches at a higher price, tracks the work in an Airtable the client can watch, and attaches a Moz DA guarantee to the upper plans. It also publishes a free list of 152+ directories for DIY submitters and has recently added location-based businesses to its scope. Delivery is 5 to 7 days for the submissions themselves, and the site is candid that listings can take up to three months to appear and that it cannot guarantee them. A $100 "end of summer" discount code was still live on the page in October.
Pick it if you want fewer, hand-chosen listings tracked live in Airtable and the budget is not the constraint. Skip it if you are comparing on price per directory, where it is last by a wide margin.
Where it scores
- Live tracker instead of a static report
- Clear delivery window
- Free public list
Where it loses points
- $9.85 per directory on the entry plan, the most expensive here by a wide margin
- Guarantees Moz DA, which nobody else measures, so the number is not comparable
- An "end of summer" discount code still live in October with no expiry
ListingBott
listingbott.com ↗ListingBott is John Rush's service and the best-known name on the list. It does things differently: AI agents and humans together, submissions paced over a month so the link profile grows at what the site calls a human pace, and a DR 0-to-15 guarantee backed by a refund. The directory list is treated as intellectual property and shown only after payment. Pricing is tiered by customer count and climbs toward $999. The site claims a pool of 12,000 directories, 2,500+ customers and case-study DR jumps of +28 to +46, none linked to a domain you can check. Delivery is quoted as "up to 5 weeks" in one place and "up to 2 months" in another.
Pick it if you want submissions paced over a month and a refund-backed DR promise from a well-known founder, and you do not need to see the list. Skip it if hidden lists or hybrid methods are deal-breakers.
Where it scores
- Pacing submissions over weeks is defensible; a hundred new links in a day is a pattern
- Full-refund language is unambiguous
Where it loses points
- Hybrid method, hidden list, DR guarantee, and two different timelines on one page
- $2.99 per directory now, heading to $9.99 at the "after beta" price
- "2500+ satisfied customers" and "12,000 directories" with nothing to check
Bonus: two outside the ranking
Both were scored on the same rubric. Submitator is fully automated and says so, which makes it a different product from the ten above; on points it would tie for fourth. Boringlaunch scored 2, the lowest of anything we checked, because its page does not say whether a person or a script does the work, does not show the list, and sells a DR promise. It is here rather than in the ranking so the ranking stays a list of services that at least state their method.
Submitator
submitator.com ↗Submitator runs browser automation against a public list of 160+ directories and lets you tick the ones you want before paying, which no manual service here does. The homepage copy is blunt about the method ("real automation, not an army of people clicking buttons"), the FAQ has a question titled "Why don't you guarantee DR growth?", and there is a 30-day refund. The trade-off is the one automation always carries: a script cannot tell that a directory wants the tagline in the description field, and the "+15 average DR in 30 days" figure on the page has no method behind it.
Pick it if you are comfortable fixing a few mis-filled forms yourself in exchange for 48-hour delivery, your own choice of directories and the lowest entry price here. Skip it if you want the listings written by a person.
Where it scores
- Open list, and you choose the directories
- Under a dollar a directory with screenshots and a refund window
- Says what it is instead of claiming "100% human"
Where it loses points
- Automated: form quirks and category mismatches are yours to fix afterwards
- No logins handed over
- "440+ startups submitted" and "99.9% consistency" with nothing to check
Scoring: method 0, list 2, proof 1, guarantee 1, price 2, delivery 2.
Boringlaunch
boringlaunch.com ↗Boringlaunch, run by Shivam, sells three one-time plans to AI startups and SaaS founders with a 7-day delivery promise and strike-through prices at double the charged amount. The page shows sample platforms (Crunchbase, SourceForge) and promises a detailed report, but does not say how the submissions are done or show the list. Two of the three plans carry a "fully booked till 1st Nov" notice beside a working buy button, and the $549 Priority plan submits to fewer directories (50 to 60) than the $249 plan (100+), the difference being a DR 20+ refund promise.
Pick it only if the 7-day delivery and the brand are enough for you, because the page does not say how the work is done or where. Ask both questions by email before paying.
Where it scores
- A clear 7-day delivery on every plan
Where it loses points
- The page never says whether a person or a script does the work
- "Fully booked till 1st Nov, reserve your spot" next to a live buy button
- The $549 plan submits to fewer directories than the $249 plan
What happens after you order
You fill in one form: name, URL, description, logo, screenshot, category, pricing. The service creates an account on each directory, submits the listing, and records what it did. Within the stated turnaround you get a report: one row per directory, with the status and, from the better services, a screenshot and the login.
That is the end of what any service controls. Each directory then reviews your listing on its own schedule: some publish in minutes, many take one to four weeks, a few never answer. Domain rating moves only after Ahrefs has crawled the live listings, which is weeks later again, and by how much depends on your existing links, not on the vendor. Any service that promises a DR number is promising something it does not control; read what the refund actually covers, because in every case we found it covers the submissions.
What you should expect from a good vendor is narrower and more useful: every directory in the plan submitted, proof for each, resubmission when a fixable rejection comes back, and a straight answer when a directory says no.
Checked but not ranked
- SubmitMatic (submitmatic.com): the same three prices as SubmitSaaS, the same directory counts, the same method sentence word for word, and the same 48-hour, Google Sheet and dedicated-email setup. We left it out until we can confirm who runs it.
- Index Startup (indexstartup.com): $45 for 50, manual, since 2019, and it would have scored 8. It loaded through our fetch tool on 5 October 2026 but not from a browser, twice. A ranking should not send readers to a site that may not open, so it is here until it loads reliably.
- Listifying and SubmitI: live, but neither states a delivery time or mentions screenshots, so both would score 4 or 5 and add nothing a reader can act on.
- AutoLaunched, Rank in Public, PushSaaS: did not load on 5 October 2026 (the first two do not resolve). SubmitAI Pro: expired TLS certificate.
- Nick Launches and Startories no longer sell submissions; Instaaa is now a casino blog. LinkJuice.ai shows no prices.
- Top AI Directories: sells directory lists from $19; its done-for-you option has no visible price, count or turnaround.
How to choose
If you have an AI tool, the question is whether you want AI-only directories (us, or aidirectori.es) or a general startup list. If you have anything else, cross both of us off.
Then look at the report before the price. A service that sends screenshots and logins is handing you proof and control; one that sends a list of names is asking you to trust it. On this list, myStartupTool, LaunchDirectories, SubmitWell and ourselves promise both.
Finally, treat any guaranteed DR or DA number as marketing. The vendor does not control Ahrefs or Moz. Read what the refund actually covers; in every case we found, it covers the submissions, which is the part they do control.
Frequently asked questions
Is a directory submission service worth it?
If your time is worth more than about a dollar a form, yes. Our estimate for 100 directories by hand is 12 to 20 hours: 7 to 12 minutes per form for account creation, the form itself and image uploads, times 100, before the ones that reject you and need a second pass. Every service on this list costs less than that time. What a service cannot do is make a directory approve you or move your domain rating by a fixed amount.
Manual or automated submissions, which is better?
Manual, if the service really is manual. Directories differ in which field wants the tagline, which image size passes and which category exists. Automation gets those wrong and the listing is rejected or published with the wrong text. Only two of the ten ranked services describe themselves as automation-assisted or hybrid, and the bonus entry is fully automated; the rest claim human submission, which you cannot verify until the report arrives.
Should I trust a guaranteed DR increase?
No. Domain rating is calculated by Ahrefs from links it has discovered, and no submission service controls which listings go live, when they get crawled, or how Ahrefs weights them. Five services on this list guarantee a DR or DA number. Read the refund terms under each guarantee: they usually cover failing to submit, not failing to hit the number.
How many directories should I submit to?
Enough that the relevant ones are covered, and no more. Count the directories that cover your category and accept your pricing model, and submit to those. For a general AI tool that is a few hundred; for a narrow category (say, AI for legal or AI for audio) it can be under a hundred, and padding the list with general startup sites adds little. Past that you are paying for listings on sites that were never going to send a visitor.
What should a submission report contain?
One row per directory with the submission date, the status, a screenshot of the submitted form or confirmation, and the login created for that directory so you can edit the listing later. A report that only lists directory names is not proof of anything.
Why did you include your own service in the ranking?
Because leaving it out would be stranger. We scored ourselves on the same rubric, show every point, and name the two places we lose: our full list sits behind a free account rather than on an open page, and we are not the cheapest per directory. If you weight price first, SubmitWell and SubmitSaaS beat us.
Is there a free directory submission service?
No service submits for free, because the work is hours of a person's time. What is free is the list. Ours is 450+ AI directories with DR, dofollow and pricing data behind a free account; BacklinkBot, aidirectori.es and Submit Juice publish open lists too. With a list and an afternoon you can do the top twenty yourself and decide whether the rest is worth paying for.
Should I submit myself or use a service?
Do the first ten yourself. You will learn which fields matter, how your description reads at 160 characters, and whether your logo passes. If after ten you would rather ship product than fill forms, that is the signal to pay someone. If you enjoy it, the free list is all you need.
Do directory listings help with AI search?
Nobody outside the AI companies knows exactly how ChatGPT, Perplexity or Google's AI Overviews pick their sources, and any vendor who claims to is guessing. Two things are clear. A listing can only be retrieved by an AI assistant after it is live and crawled, so a submission by itself does nothing, and submitting a form does not put your product into any model's training data. What is observable is that AI answers cite crawlable pages that mention a product consistently across several sites, and directory listings are one of the cheaper ways to build that footprint. Treat it as a reasonable bet, not a promise.
How long until the listings go live?
Separately from the vendor's turnaround. Product Hunt and most community directories publish within a day; curated AI directories typically review in one to four weeks; some paid directories only publish once you pay their fee; a few never respond. A good report shows "submitted" with proof and lets you check each one later, rather than claiming "live" for everything.
Have an AI tool?
80, 200 or 300 AI directories, submitted by a person, with a screenshot for every one. One payment. We guarantee the submissions, not the approvals.
